Rebecca was educated at the University of Adelaide and was admitted to legal practice in South Australia in 1985. She spent the first two years of her career with Fisher Jeffries, a major Adelaide legal firm.

From 1987 to 1994 she worked with Kelly & Co, where she became a partner in 1993.

She was subsequently contracted as Senior Solicitor with South Australian Asset Management Corporation (formerly known as State Bank of South Australia), and assisted in the realization of significant assets locally, interstate and overseas for a period of five years.

The asset realization process at SAAMC complete,  in 1999 Rebecca joined Ward & Partners (which merged with Hunt & Hunt in 2002) as a Consultant. She specialized in complex corporate litigation at that firm until joining Adelta Legal in July 2003.

Rebecca's principal areas of practice are insolvency, commercial litigation, banking and finance, and commercial and property law.

Her expertise includes:

• Conduct of litigation in the Magistrates, District, Supreme, Federal and High Courts
   
• Debt collection and recovery proceedings, including actions for possession of property
   
• Advice to insolvency practitioners, financial institutions and major corporate clients in relation to all forms of insolvency administrations and informal “workouts”, both pre- and post-appointment
   
• Advice in relation to all types of insolvency administrations (corporate and non-corporate), pre- and post-appointment
   
• The conduct of insolvency-related litigation, including disputes over tenancies, retention of title clauses, guarantees, unfair preferences, employee entitlements and priority issues
   
• A comprehensive understanding of banking law, practices and procedures
   
• The conduct of a wide variety of commercial litigation, with an emphasis on contractual disputes, locally, interstate and overseas (UK and USA)
   
• The negotiation and implementation of a wide variety of commercial transactions and preparation of associated documentation
   
• Advising generally on corporate governance issues, and in particular, directors’ duties
   
• Practical understanding of Government policies and procedures
